Antique Crochet

Around 4 month ago, still in the summer, I visited a friend of my who wanted to show me something. She knows that I love textile art. She found (a long time ago) bits and pieces, all very beautiful crochet flowers and seeds.

This work looks like it was made by monks in a monastery or so. Because the material is very fine cotton and the motifs are only made using single crochets or knitted.
The flowers were all wrinkled and had some stains, but I knew this was too beautiful to have it in a drawer.

So I gave her the advise to clean it carefully and sew the pieces nicely on a linen in the same color and make a wallhanging. But formost Do It !! And now voilà she called me, come and have a look I did it. And whow it came out soooo beautiful. It got a special place with light on it in her great salon. I'm very proud of her, that she took the time to finish this UFO (unfinishe object.)

Day 7 of the blogchallenge

Loving different kind of fiber arts, makes it difficult to chose what to make this day. I love knitting bags and like "Haut Bags"there are many Magazins around where You can find some inspirations. I prefer to use recyced material, like old pieces of handpainted silk for example.

This lovele silk bag is sold 

This lovely bag is  made from recycled silk, cut in long stripes than crochet. The vintage picture is printed on canvas so is the text of poezie and the text song singing sofly together with lace and flowers as embelishment. But I have made many plastic bags cut long stripes and knitted I find it difficult to crochet the plastic. All the bags are then  nicely  lined with zipper pockets. Some embelishments with beads and buttons and ready is a one of a kind ( Ooak ) piece. You can have a look at my website to find more handbags.

Hoog bezoek

Een grote verrassing. Ja werkelijk onze burgemeester van Roermond de Heer Henk van Beers kwam persoonlijk naar mijn textielkunstwerk van het stadhuis van Roermond kijken. Hij vond het echt prachtig en liet me weten welke ramen van het stadhuis tot zijn bureau behoorden en ook waar de wethouder de Heer Jos van Rey zijn bureau heeft . Dat is precies boven het mooie balkon. Ik was trots al mijn werk te kunnen tonen . Hij beloofde mij nog wat mensen van de gemeente te sturen. Dat is nog niet gebeurd, maar wat niet is, kan nog komen.

Yes I was proud that the "maire" from Roermond has visit my studio to see the textiel townhall from Roermond, where his office is located. He was very impressed.

Bij het opruimen vond ik nog een paar UFO'S. Creatievelingen weten wel wat dat betekent: Unfinished Objects. Daar moest ik snel verandering aan brengen en besloot een mooie wanddecoratie te maken.

While I was cleaning my working space I found some UFO's Unfinished Objects and started right away to make something out of the little scrubles that I found. I love the colours and it came out real nice.

Ich bekam ein shock heute denn mein computer wollte nicht starten !!! Was tun ohne dieses Ding?? Nach eine weile hat er es sich anders überlegt und startete wieder. Gott sei Dank denn gerade gestern hatte ich viel promotion gemacht für neue listings so schau mal hin auf Etsy

I had trouble with my computer this morning and was upset as I just promoted some pretty purses on my Etsy store . Luckely after a while it worked again.
