Kitty Cat

To write my blog is not always an easy task. Many times I think I should write again, but than life takes over and some other things are coming up to do. Like stitching a new small quilt piece which I named KITTY CAT. It is all handmade and has many kantha stitches all over. It makes me feel good to make stitch after stitch. I even can do it watching TV.

I learned a lot from Jude Hill she loves handstitching too and works every day.
After I finished Kitty Cat I wanted to make some boho kind of bags. Lovely one of a kind purses for my gallery Codiart The day I finished 2 of those,  I sold them and forgot to take a picture from the first one, but luckely my hubby Dieter took a picture with his smartphone from the second one. Here it is.

The letter A

Today I  visited the blog from familybugs (50 blogging tips for the creativ seller)again and she had a good idea to blogpost by the alphabet to keep You going. Now for me that would man to start by the letter "A". So in my niche what does come up with the letter A? "A" is all I try to do: make "ART" If it is textileart or watercolor painting,

When I was still working full time as a choreographer, that was also art. I had to come up with complex figures or very simple steps to make a dance work with the music. There is a lot of Art around us, as in Nature as on the streets, just have a look around You. I'm sure You will find some very close to home.

Working on small keepsakes from our hometown Roermond just to try out if people are interested, I have made some necklages and keychains also some handbags, all with motives of my own textile art. Like the one from our townhall which You can see here.

Following the blogchallenge again this month and one day late, but I will try to keep up for the next 29 days,

Work in progres.

It is time to show You my work in progres. It will be a RAG Bag. What that means. Well it looks rough quilted an not so precise as I normaly use to work, but I believe it is good for me to try that.

I took a piece of jeans, than grab some stripes of different scraps of fabric. I used greens, blues and yellows. Dropped about 2 till 3 layers over the jeans.

Than I put my lovely gray Dupion Silk over the whole and pinned it together. It is a good idea to first make the drawing from the pattern on the silk, for what ever You want to make. Now it is time to make different lines close to each oter. Circels are fine too.

After You are happy with your design it is time to cut in between the lines with a very sharp little scissor. Be careful not to cut into the last fabric, or You will have a hole. If You like it very rough, than You need to wash the piece now. Which I did. Than more sewing on the machine. This time a square pattern. I made mine a little too small, because it is difficult to cut them open, but hey it is my first ragpiece.

So cutting near 2 sewing lines from the squares, after cutting them open You need to sew the corners down with a matching tread. It is a lot of work but I like the outcome although it will take an other day or 2 before that is finished.

I'm exhausted

Yes I am, running up and down the stairs and that is not the easiest thing to do. I had to go to the cellar, to find all my pretty handbags and yarns for crochet and knitting. It was a surprise what I found and there is much more. But I had to give up for today. As my shop downstairs is rented, I can only go in the evening, as I do not want to disturb them.

A nice quilt I put over the sofa and some of my bags in the cupboard, but I'm sure, everything is not at the right place yet. At least Dieter and I got the table up, so I will be able to start my new project. Wat ever that will be.

 As You can see on the picutes it was to dark my lighting is not done. Next time I need to take pictures in daytime!

Beads and more

 My beading experience.

I tried a lot of crafts before I choose to stay with my fabric art, like BEADWORK
My daughter who lives in the USA married a native American and they make the most beautiful boedwork on everyhing.
My daughter lerned the beadwork from het mother inlas. She has made some great men waistcoats and a lot of jewlery. So I got so enthausiastic and wanted to learn that craft too.
I bought thausends of glas beads in a very small size 10

Also a book"The Art of Beadweaving " by Jacque Owens. Wow how nice the little pouches came out. So pretty.

Mostly I use the peyote stich, but you can ork the right angle weave, the daisy stich,Brick stich and more. Check out the free beading instructions . But ofcourse I am a ceative woman, made drawings and started an collection of jewels.

Day 7 of the blogchallenge

Loving different kind of fiber arts, makes it difficult to chose what to make this day. I love knitting bags and like "Haut Bags"there are many Magazins around where You can find some inspirations. I prefer to use recyced material, like old pieces of handpainted silk for example.

This lovele silk bag is sold 

This lovely bag is  made from recycled silk, cut in long stripes than crochet. The vintage picture is printed on canvas so is the text of poezie and the text song singing sofly together with lace and flowers as embelishment. But I have made many plastic bags cut long stripes and knitted I find it difficult to crochet the plastic. All the bags are then  nicely  lined with zipper pockets. Some embelishments with beads and buttons and ready is a one of a kind ( Ooak ) piece. You can have a look at my website to find more handbags.

Endlich habe ich es geschaft, es ist alles nicht so leicht wie es aus sieht.Mein Etsy shop Viele Foto,s und Text schreiben. Aber es hat sich gelohnt es gibt erst 3 schöne Tasche aber das werden ab jetzt jeden Tag mehr! Schau nun öfters rein.

Yes I did it I got my Etsy shop. Not so easy for me I had to take a lot of pictures and describe the purses. But it is nice I have got only 3 purses at this moment, but there will be a lot more to come soon. Just have a look more often.
