Brand new atelier

What to write, so many things happened since last time. Everytime I think,"oh that's what I need to write about, but life goes so fast, the next thing is happened. So now I hope to find some easy time and start working in my brand new atelier.
After renting away our space, for many years, our studio is ours again. We did a lot of cleaning painting the walls and now since one week we are open three days a week to the public.

We had a nice opening day and three of my friends from KC61 are here in the gallery showing art until end of May.

Me, myself just show some necklages, recycled handbags and textile art, like my small pictures from our city Roermond and Landscapes.
I'm also painting on silk and sewing in the shop as I am working on large textile art pieces for a show in September. Our citygarden is sooo very beautiful, all the rhodondendrons and azalea's are in full bloom and the roses spread their enchanting fragance. This is a wonderful spring!!

A good start, but.....

With a lot of power and enthusiastic I went downstairs to my new workspace in the galery. I was sure to make an other handbag today, but decided to make it a little bigger this time. I had alraidy the top part printed from one of my textileart pieces, which came out real good. I found a wool fabric with all the colours in it, so that was easy. For the back I wanted to use my jeans material.

I was good on the way and after 4 hours I started with the lining and a dark red fabric was chosen.

I sewed a pocker inside and then the lining for the bag was complete. But when it was entirely finished, I did not like it at all the lining much too soft. It is not easy to take something out what is done, but I had to do it all over. So unfortunately I can not show You my latest creation, the hours I worked to day, too much but for sure tomorrow I will be happy with it. Here a picture from the front part.

New Bags

While I was busy hanging my Textile Art in the Castle "Aerwinkel" I thought how nice it would be to carry my art around and make it more easy for some people to have a look at it. So I decided to make some handbags with my motives of our city Roermond. I bought some white and some blue Jeans fabric and started to experiment. The first bag was just okay but the print on the jeans was not so clear to see.

Here the original Textile Art from thes Music pavillion. At this moment it is at an exhibition with some more pieces in the Castle Aerwinkel. It is made from recycled fabrics, handpainted silks and tread.

The next bag I tried different and used Canvas, not easy to work with as it is a little stiff, but the colours are much better. I like this bag it is just what I was looking for. With some trims and a crochet leave. The lining is a pretty green cotton with en extra pocket inside.

I tried a lot of crafts before I choose to stay with my fabric art, like BEADWORK
My daughter who lives in the USA married a native American and they make the most beautiful boedwork on everyhing.
My daughter lerned the beadwork from het mother inlas. She has made some great men waistcoats and a lot of jewlery. So I got so enthausiastic and wanted to learn that craft too.
I bought thausends of glas beads in a very small size 10

Also a book"The Art of Beadweaving " by Jacque Owens. Wow how nice the little pouches came out. So pretty.

Mostly I use the peyote stich, but you can ork the right angle weave, the daisy stich,Brick stich and more. Check out the free beading instructions . But ofcourse I am a ceative woman, made drawings and started an collection of jewels.

Ich bekam ein shock heute denn mein computer wollte nicht starten !!! Was tun ohne dieses Ding?? Nach eine weile hat er es sich anders überlegt und startete wieder. Gott sei Dank denn gerade gestern hatte ich viel promotion gemacht für neue listings so schau mal hin auf Etsy

I had trouble with my computer this morning and was upset as I just promoted some pretty purses on my Etsy store . Luckely after a while it worked again.

Endlich habe ich es geschaft, es ist alles nicht so leicht wie es aus sieht.Mein Etsy shop Viele Foto,s und Text schreiben. Aber es hat sich gelohnt es gibt erst 3 schöne Tasche aber das werden ab jetzt jeden Tag mehr! Schau nun öfters rein.

Yes I did it I got my Etsy shop. Not so easy for me I had to take a lot of pictures and describe the purses. But it is nice I have got only 3 purses at this moment, but there will be a lot more to come soon. Just have a look more often.
