Meneer de Uil (MR. OWL)

In the Netherlands, we have many very good children TV programms,but many years ago, when our daughter Nathaly was a little girl, we HAD to watch "Meneer de Uilt" almost every day.

She sang the song too and a few weeks ago, I found a drawing from meneer de uil which she had made while she was only 5 years old.

  It is so pretty, that I decided to make this cute aimal in 3D. Not easy to do, but I now it will be a very interesting little figure and very recognizable.

Not ready yet , but soon. When it is all done, I will post it again.

Children between 3 and 8 years old draw mostly funny figures with a round body and long arms and legs.
So this will be something for me to do in the future. If somebody is interested please contact me

Homage to Charlie Rivel (the world famous clown)

A while ago, Dieter made a small sculpture of Charlie Rivel, after a picture he received from our daughter. He liked it so much. Dieter worked with him in Lorry Variete in Copenhagen in the 1960th. and they went fishing together at the lake.

There is a lot of material to find about this great clown on the internet. He was born in Katalunia in Spain 1896 under the name José Andreo Rivel. After he met Charly Chaplin he changed his name to Charlie Rivel.
In 1931 in Berlin on a whim the exclamation ACROBAT SCHÖÖÖN ! His trademark for decades. However, his words "A bridge a small bridge" and his heart-rending cry remained in the public memory. He died in 1983.

After Dieter finished the sculpture of Charlie, he made an other one of Bonny West our daughter and now the two of them are on the next picture.

Some Show News

Las Vegas has so much to offer and we are very fortunate to have some good friends and our daughter working there. One day, Nathaly came to us with a surprise. She had special event tickets for the "Mystère Show" from Cirque du Soleil, for our friend Brian Andro who is working at this show, they organised a surprise Party after the Show for his 80th. birthday. So we were standing on this great stage. His son had made a movie of his LIFE. We worked with him many years ago round 1960.

Then an other day Tuson Big Mountain our son-in-law brought us backstage of the new "Aria" the newest Luxury Hotel in the City Center from Las Vegas  He has a large working space and is a carpenter.

Backstage is enormous large and 6 stories high. Wow, I wonder how many people are necessary to operate all these large props and stages, up and down. The show is called "Viva Elvis"  Tuson told us there are 40 people during showtime working. The biggest surprse was a phonecall from our daughter Nathaly who got us tickets for this great show, the last day, before we had to leave, where she performs as  "Westerngirl."
We are so glad to be able to see her on this stage. She was wonderful.
