Small Art Garden

July 29th again.
That's how fast the time goes by. I wanted to write a few blogs this month and I did. Not as much as I would have had but better than not at all. So today I write something about our little garden. We are so lucky to have a place to go outside and enjoy flowers, scrubs and even a pond with some goldfish. But above all we love art and curiosities or even 'KITSCH' on the old wall around the garden. When we bought this house about 30 years ago, we thought we would close the garden so we had a bigger store. But fortunately we did not.

Sometimes we go outside for dinner. Many times when people come to our gallery, they walk straight on to the garden and enjoy all the things that can be seen. Here are some pictures and I hope you like them.

Brand new atelier

What to write, so many things happened since last time. Everytime I think,"oh that's what I need to write about, but life goes so fast, the next thing is happened. So now I hope to find some easy time and start working in my brand new atelier.
After renting away our space, for many years, our studio is ours again. We did a lot of cleaning painting the walls and now since one week we are open three days a week to the public.

We had a nice opening day and three of my friends from KC61 are here in the gallery showing art until end of May.
There is Raymonde Sampers with paintings
Evelien Wink with paintings on wood and Resin Art.
Liliane Rempakis Art Papier-maché with her lovely Lounge Ladies
Dieter Lange my hubby with paintings and wood sculptures.

Me, myself just show some necklages, recycled handbags and textile art, like my small pictures from our city Roermond and Landscapes.
I'm also painting on silk and sewing in the shop as I am working on large textile art pieces for a show in September. Our citygarden is sooo very beautiful, all the rhodondendrons and azalea's are in full bloom and the roses spread their enchanting fragance. This is a wonderful spring!!

Just a happy start

Till now this month was very busy, but also interesting I did a lot, exept writing my blog, sorry it took so long.

First I had to get my textileart to the Galery “Het Achterhuis” in Roermond. Dieter helped me very good, to bring all the pieces save to the galerie, we did not need a car because the gallerie is in walking distance and the weather was fine. The official opening was on friday the 10th. And was opened by Connie Hannen, she did a good job and there were about 55 people at the opening. We are 4 artist. Mary Jose Voncken with paintings, Yvonne Hensgens with keramiek, Marlies Lavarack with juwleries and myself with textileart and plastic recycled bags and shabby chique colliers.

We are open on Saturdays and Sundays only and that is realy nice. We got already a lot of visitors. The show will go on untill the end of january.

Than I worked also as JESTER in the theater The Oranjerie for Lachenderwies a show that runned for the 5th time and I always was the JESTER in this show.

That means to bring in the comedians by the public and bring them on stage and back again when they are ready. It means a lot of running and smiling all the times, for 4 hours, but I love it. You can find many pictures of me as JESTER on the internet just click this link. After the show, This is my face. !!!!
Water water water soap soap soap needed!!!!!

In the meantime I finished my very large quilt, I just did the binding and maybe tomorrow I still want to do some stibbeling on the machine around the borders. We will see. I love the colour combination with the gray silk around it.

I’m surprized what I will do next!!!!! I will let You know for sure it will be with some nice fabric

My Hubby Dieter, he too was working very hard on his large artpiece “The Face” I will write about it more next time.
This is just the design but it is readdy and RED

Laurentius

It was time to start my Etsy shop again, I was very lazy. No, that is not true ofcourse I worked hard and made many aquarels and now this coming sunday two of them will be exhibited together with two of my textile Artworks from our home town Roermond at the Central Hall of the Hospital LAURENTIUS
This will be opened on the 9th of september by our mayor. And stay untill 23th. Of september.

So for people who live here nearby,  go and have a look. I would love to hear from You and get some feedback.
But yes, I started my Etsy shop again. It is a lot of work, making photos with the right impact, light and good color. Also to discribe the items in English and Dutch has to be done and takes time.
Every day I will put one item more, so please come back more often and see if You find something of your interest. Remember it is soon Christmas time again!!! And starting to buy for friends and family can not be too early enough.

Too far.

Yesterday my hubby Dieter had a golf game and I want to try out for the day to come, without being sad. The weather is going well so I do Nordic Walking. I had Nathaly and Dieter last November already walked along a beautiful stretch of the river, by Suburb of Roermond and then continue on a cycle route.
My textile Art from the "Voorstad" roermond

I walked to Herten, that was about 4 km. Actually I wanted to continue, but I had forgotten to take water or something else to drink with me. I asked a sports man who passed, is there a terrace around somewhere, but that turned out to be like to walk back to Roermond. That is what I did. After 10 minutes I came to a large lawn and I first decided to make a break before I would fall down upon because it had become quite hot. Long out on the grass under the shade of a large tree. Wonderful, shoes off, feel the grass barefoot. Viewing the beautiful blue sky through the leaves. Only 10 meters up the river with many boats with people enjoying the beautiful weather. I was still thirsty and after 10 minutes it went back further back to the city. There I sat down on the very first chair that I found on a terrace. Water! Equipped I went home, the last streets without sticks. In the afternoon I went to Art Room, I had received an invitation to the exhibition and I had never been there before. I found the beautiful art that was offered and took a few leaflets along to find the artists on the internet and find out more about them. Merel Koomen, Lily Scheffer, Jo Coort , Ni-El and Marlene Schaeks, Fotografie, I could not find a link to a website from her. A glass of prosecco and my day was good

A very good day

A very good day

We got an invitation from one of Dieters golffriends. They are real old guys with a lot of power and love to hit the ball on the golfcourse.
They know each other for years and now and then come together for a snack, lunch or dinner. Yesterday we were in Germany invited by Dieter (not my Dieter) and his wife Karin , they live in a lovely little town not far from here, just over the border in the middle of woods and nearby a small lake a real holiday place with a nice garden and very quiet.

Ofcourse we went only in the afternoon after they had there golfgame and I had my walk around the town with my sticks. I went around the whole town, like I use to run before, so by know, everyone in town has seen me walking and that is okay.
The weather was gorgeous  and the tables and chairs stood in the garden under a awning a nice brize and a good glas of whine. Than we could go to the buffet for a nice fish platter It looked so good that my Dieter made a picture of it.

Almost as nice as a painting, but that did not stay for long that way, I can tell You.
I walked through the garden and made some pictures too. 3 Hours later we went home again, tired but happy.

A special Event at the ECI culturefactory

Yesterday evening we went to a very special event at the Culturefactory ECI in our hometown Roermond. The ECI is build in a very large and old factory and has a theater, a cinema and many different workshops around art.

Also the Music scool is there and Ballet and Theater classes. Many years ago, I used to work for them as a ballet teacher. We were invited to come to the opening of the exhibition were 33 artist had the opportunity to make Art around a Poetry named "Gratis is het woord niet"(Free is not the word) which is about a redlight woman and the poet is Arnon Grunberg. His words are very sexy and it is not sure if this is literature or pure porno. So also the paintings are very peculiar and in a way also pornografic. Charlotte Schleiffert, Lilith Love and Monique Sluyter where among the artist.
But You know if people call it art, than everything seems to be okay. I found a few pieces very beautiful and therefore I can show You this picure.

The dresses were made from felt, just beautiful also a very large painting from a womans face which I think is a great piece.

After we visited the exhibition we went to the Pop room where a singer had her performance, she worked together with a combo and it was a nice atmosphere as she sang real cabaret songs about the hookers from Amsterdam. While we had a glass of whine a lady came to me, took my hand and said: aren"t You the lovely Yester, from the Carnival show in the theater? Yes I am how come You do recognize me, When I do this show I  am not recognizable at all. Oh the woman said, it is your movement. How about that. It was a real special evening and we met many nice people.

Mysterious trees

I love trees, with all their variations,  in our latitude with the lovely change of colors in the 4 seasons.  The trunks are special to me, not that I hug the trees YET, but I look close at the trunks  and see how the bark of the different species are formed. This also because many of my Textile artpieces  has trees in them and I stich as close as possible to the real form of the bark.

As You can see in this picture, this mysterious tree with a lot of moss on the trunk, is standing at the golfcourse and I'm sure that many people don't know where this tree is standing.

On a mysterious december day I took a picture of a tree which is standing right in the middle of hole 10. They trimmed him very short and strange I believe,

but they treated him well and surrounded his trunk with a heavy layer of linen around and so it was not so bad after all and the last summer the tree got new leaves.

The last picture is funny we took it 20 years ago when we made a walk trough a village not far from here. An old house with a nice door was totally covert by the strange arms of a tree so it looks like in the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. Now there are new people living in that house and the door is now a beautiful new class window and the mysterious tree is gone!

JESTER

Next week I will again act as a Jester, with LACHENDERWIES here in the Theater "De Oranjerie" in Roermond.

This will be the 4th time. It is really fun to do, I will explore the various "Buurrereedners" to accompany the scene. This show is organized by the "Sjtadsvastelaovesvereniging D'n UUL".

Here is a picture of my costume, I handpainted the silk and has several times served as a stage costume.

Every year I make the collar a little nicer, some more Swarovsky and sequines. I get each year a different makeup, that is for me a surprise what this year is going to be. There are 3 performances. I am very much looking forward to that show.

A thrilling month

The last day of the ultimate blogchallenge again. This month was not an easy task. I was very busy doing a lot of things, My textielart work was very important. But I was very honored by the fabulous ribbon award I received from Dianne Jones and also the comments I received about my work on Facebook and my blog. I received 1250 clicks and that is great. I made a new digital Art from a foto on the golfcourse and now it looks more like a painting.Almost like a fairy tale with transparent nymphs.

Next week I have to work on my Etsy shop again, and will put some nice artwork in like handbags One of a kind and probably also some of my digital and textile Artworks. I will post again when that is done. In August not only do I have the exhibition on the golfcourse, but was invited to put my most beautiful Textileart piece in a quiltshow. Here a picture.

Some new treasures

Like prommised yesterday, I will put some more pictures of our small garden. We do have a pond with 4 fishes. There were times we had even a Koi in that pond, but it got so big we had to find a larger place for him and so he lived for a long time on the golfcourse lake. He had a good time and everyone was looking for him, when they passed the lake and we too, had fun to see him there.
The water lilies are no longer in bloom right now
This chandelier hangs above the pond. It was left by a friend of us. We did not want to trow it a way and is a very nice focal point.

This lady is made out of marble. This was made by my father and was standing in my mothers house many years, I am glad to have it is with me now, I will take care of her.

This beautiful piece is made by Dieter, it is made from air dried clay and it is standing in a small alcove in the wall. that means: that wall is ours.

We love Japanese gardens and we used to have a few very beautiful bonsais, now we have only 2 left. The little Japanese lantern we have painted red and is standing an a stone in front of the pond.
