Digital Photo Art

A few people who read my blog on a regular basis, know that I love to make digital art very much. Here is a link to an old post from 2013 . This year we had a few days together with our daughter in Spain. She and my husband were collecting some small stones and try to build them together like a pilar. That was not so easy and they had a lot of fun with it. So I took some pictures and last month I made an other digital art from them. It took me quit  a while to do, but I think it is funny. And the proof: Do not believe everything You see on photos it may be all untrue.

Last week arts

On sunday we had some friends to visit us. That's always nice, because we can show some of our art we've been working on last week. Dieter made another watercolor of some Lilies , on heavy watercolor paper.

 I was working on digital drawing on our new Ipad. I bought this ipad specifically for my hubby for Father's Day, but I'm more pleased with it. I've downloaded Pro create and love it. I use to work with Photoshop elements, but for drawing Pro create is better for me. Here some pictures:  the first one a landscape

I am so exited

I am so busy with my new digital art, that I hardly find time to write my blog. Because my husband gets all interested too and don"t know anything about computers, but has great ideas he want to accomplish and so it is up to me ofcourse to work things out. So we made an agreement, one day I will work some Art for him and the next day My computer and Photoshop is all mine!! It works, well almost sometimes he says But that You can do soooo easy!!! And I am lost again with his wishes. I should know by now after all we are working and loving each other for 50 years and so far nothing has changed. I cant help it.

So here is a photo from Dieters Art, which I made ofcourse.

One day there was a big storm and the boats of the fishermen broke down. Then the fishes came to the fisherman and let them sit on top of them and brought them safely to the shore, to say thanks for their good behavior.

I think this is a nice story.

My latest Artwork

I would love to write like Jude Hill a woman blogger who loves cloth like I do and than I mean fabric of all sorts. The soft shine of silk or the warmth of a velvet. I allways come in a happy mood if I touch my bits and pieces.

I'm not sure yet, but it looks like I have to give up my nice studio upstairs, someone wants to hire it and if that works out, than I have to move downstairs again. It is not too bad as most of the time I am working in the living room anyway it is nice and cosy to be near to my hubby. This week I am helping my friend Johnn he is a couturier and somedays if he has too much to do I help him making some seems in beautiful couture dresses, so all hand work. With some classic music on the background it is a very good feeling working together.

My latest art work is digital photograph I try to make a few prints from them if they are good enough. We"ll see.

Digital Art new.

Last month I made about 16 small paintings and I have a small exhibition together with many more artist in September here in the Hospital of Roermond. I will have 2 textile Art pieces on Roermond and 2 of this new aquarels showing there. I will make a blog of this event next month. But for now I show You what I did digital with one of this paintings. I love working with photoshop it is fun to create new figures out of something I just made with paint. Like this painting for example

Then the next ste[ is to draw a figure right into the painting, for this step You need a steady hand, which is not so easy for me to do, but it worked out okay this time.

Just one line

Sometimes when I am doodling around something great can happen. And suddenly a  face without notice exist.

Then with the possibilities of Photoshop Elements more and more opportunities occur and it is difficult to stop. When I have such a moment I can go on for hours.



The only thing is: All those scetches take a lot op space on my computer. Many Megabites. Here some more pictures of this one line drawing. I wil probably use them in a collage, maybe even print them on silk. I will see.

Leopoldine

A story about a beautiful lady, her name:Leopoldine, born around 1875, who meant to be the grandma of my husband Dieter. What is so special about her. First I found some very nice pictures of her. We made digital art out of some. Second,  I wrote a book in the form of a DVD about "125 years artistfamily Lange". Leopoldine was no artist, her parents had a mill on the donau yes they had a boat with a mill on it and went to the surrounding farmers  for grinding their grain. I found some pictures on the net. When she met Dieters grandpa who was working high on a rope and walked from church to church, she decided to leave her family and traveled with him.

So she also learned an act and became an air acrobat and sang at the same time. They started a little circus. They became 4 children and all were working as artist in the Circus of their parents and started very young.

So, Dieters father also married, her name was Louise, who was not an artist, she too went with the circus and worked as a dog trainer with 14 dogs. Than Dieter, my husbant, when we first met, I was a dancer and very attracted to him and his lifestyle and so I joined him for our lifejourney and me too learned an act and became an Antipodist.

Black and White.

I love taking pictures and love colours, but I am fascinated by the effect you can create with black and white pictures and therefore I want to use simple shapes.

 With the snow still around it gave me a few beautiful shots. On the golfcourse where Dieter is member of, they have a very nice sculpture which is almost like two bodies close to each other it is made by Frans Peeters and I believe from glassfiber.

Two years ago I made the DVD from our family and there by I experimented with old photographs made in black and white and just a few details.

Tomorrow my blog will be more colorful again, but first we will have a nice party tonight. Our friend Marij who lives next door and has a Tiffany Shop, will be 50 years and so it is dancing time.

Dieters grandfather started show business by walking over a rope from church to church. All his children and grandchildren and their children including our daughter who is ofcourse his back grandchild are in showbusiness.

Circus Scala

It took me 8 month till it was ready and I'm very happy with the result. With all the work I had to do, like enhancing the photos. I had fun working with photoshop elements and did some nice work from the circus. Here some pictures.

Digital work

This is a picture of my very first quilt I made for my daughter. I designed it myself. I wanted to give it the impression of feathers in the center part, because our son in law is native american and a dancer as wel and his costumes are all beautiful and with a lot of feathers.

For my next project I was thinking about a painting on silk and quilt it, like i did before. But this time it will be an underwater theme.

I love to work with photoshop elements on my computer and that gives me many possibillities to digtalize and experiment with my photos. Sometimes I just use some colors and work around with triangles and flowers. than I figure out if something will work for me to paint of quilt.

With my sewing machine on the table, ready to use it is so much fun to try freemotion quilting and it is improving.

A thrilling month

The last day of the ultimate blogchallenge again. This month was not an easy task. I was very busy doing a lot of things, My textielart work was very important. But I was very honored by the fabulous ribbon award I received from Dianne Jones and also the comments I received about my work on Facebook and my blog. I received 1250 clicks and that is great. I made a new digital Art from a foto on the golfcourse and now it looks more like a painting.Almost like a fairy tale with transparent nymphs.

Next week I have to work on my Etsy shop again, and will put some nice artwork in like handbags One of a kind and probably also some of my digital and textile Artworks. I will post again when that is done. In August not only do I have the exhibition on the golfcourse, but was invited to put my most beautiful Textileart piece in a quiltshow. Here a picture.

Garden treasures

It is hard to keep on track these last days with the blogchallenge, now with the Olympic even more. I love to watch the TV with all the good sports. Just now I watch Beach Volleyball Germany against Australia and it is very exiting. It looks like Germany is going to win this one. Anyway, Dieter and I were in our garden and took pictures of all the little treasures we have put together. Our collection gets bigger every year. Here are some pictures.

We also have some nice roses I have in our small garden. Sorry but I cannot tell You their names. They are so beautiful they look like silk. They don't last long but there are new ones coming everyday.

My painting standing against a wall, it seems like the rain does not matter on this painting, but in the winter I will put it somewhere els.

This little figure is from Japan, we bought it about 45 years ago. She does not get any older het face is smiling everyday.

This piece is handcarved by Dieter, The stone came down from our church during a earthquake we had here on the 13th of april 1992, it was the biggest earthquake Netherland ever had.

This piece is my personal favorite, also made by Dieter and from the same material. The stone is called "Mergel"

An old waterpump, made out of copper. We have this one many years.

This mirror is in memory of my mam, who died almost 2 years ago, it was hanging in her room as long as I can remember.

A copper lantern and a golden lady, made by Dieter from airdried clay. It is standing a longtime in the garden, but need some care, because this lady does not like to stand in the rain for a long period.


We have such nice pictures that I will put tomorrow some more of our treasures on the next blog.

What is next??

Today I finished all my sewing work for the last Artpiece I have made, but I did not have the time to take pictures, that will be for tomorrow. A few month ago a nice lady asked me to make a textile artwork in commission from her house. Up till now, I did not work on that yet, I made a few pictures of the house. It is very large and difficult to take the house in 1 shot. So I made several pictures and now I have to put them together with Photoshop and see if I can do it.

This is only a small part of the house. so I also have to make the perspectives more straight. 

The house has lovely details, like a carved door with flowers and two very original lampposts

The colors of the house are very neutral and because there is almost no sun at the front, I can hardly make use of shadows. All in all, this is a fairly difficult task. But to see if I'm going to start.

Not so much, just digital fun

No that is true, I did not do too much to day, just cleaning up my kitchen a little. Than I sat down on my computer and started with some digital art again. I tried to put two pictures in one. I have done it before, but a while ago and had to practice it. At the end I did okay, but strange enough I could not save it is jpg. So I took e picture from my work with the smart phone, it is not as good as on the computer, but You will have an idea. Here it is.

I put the flower pictures in first, than the castle but small fixed them together and aranged some more flowers around and before You know it. Two hours gone!!!! BUT I HAD FUN.

Than this evening I had to do some real work and started to put the jeans fabric around the panel Dieter made for me for the next exhibit.

Auwa my knees, but I finished almost one, only the corners, but that is for tomorrow!!

Digital Art

Today I would like to write something about my digital Art. Since I have my MAC I love to play around with my photo's. So I bought the software from Adobe Photoshop Elements many years ago and love it. Unfortunately I should upgrade my Mac Book to the latest version LION, but than Photoshop Elements does not work anymore. Two years ago I used to work much more with digital images as I was making a book about Dieters Artist Family called "125 Years Artist Family Lange" By looking through all the old photos I had to make many reparations, so I could use them in the book.

His Father was not born yet .This must have been around 1895. I have changed the background a lot.
